About Us

Tom opened the shop in 1987. Formerly, it had been Frank's Bicycle Shop since 1961. For 25 years we've remained an independent bike dealer, selling top brands and proving year after year to be the best mechanics in the area.

It's been about helping people of all ages and abilities enjoy bike riding—whether that's through increasing comfort, getting things working right, or dialing it in for performance. From the beginning, we've supported amateur racing through club sponsorships and local and state advocacy. There's so much you can do on a bike, and we're really happy to help you make the most of it.

  Tom Ayers

  Tom has been deeply involved in cycling since 1970 as an accomplished road and track racer, club organizer, event promoter, coach, frame builder, and advocate. He's famously known as the "bike whisperer."

  Ed Pasternak

  Ed has been riding and wrenching for over 20 years. He's a fan of local mountain and cyclocross racing. He's happy to keep you riding down the trail.

  We're located on 188 First Ave (see map) in Atlantic Highlands. We're about 3 minutes from the Bayshore Trail (part of the >Henry Hudson Trail), and about 3 miles from Sandy Hook.
